I'm now 18 days away from my first half marathon, and I'm right on track with my training. Earlier this summer, I was finding it hard to get started. The fear of failure kept me from hitting the pavement...along with the extremely high temps and suffocating humdity. Now, I find that I want to experiment with going a little faster, a little hard, but I know that 2 weeks before the race is not the time to start changing things up. I'll save that for next time (did I just say "next time"?!?). I'm down to one more long run and then one week of taper. After running 11 miles, I know I can complete this race. I am going to have fun and be present at each mile. I look forward to the butterflies in my stomach as I stand at the start line. I'm not good with the unknown, but this time I will embrace it. -Dawn
